Endangered project due to Endangered river dolphins
In 1996 USA's oil and Gas giant got licence to study this project and build it if viable.
They were interested to invest 8 billion dollars at that time and they planned to sell excess power to China And India .
But due to extreme pressure from conservation groups from around the world they pulled out of the project in 1998.
Since this project would have been dangerous for already endangered river dolphins which are only found in Karnali river in Nepal.
